  • WHAT IS THE REFINERY?
    The Refinery is a mixed use development located in the "Neck" region of the Charleston Peninsula. It features over 40,000sf of office space, a 2,000 person capacity outdoor amphitheater, various private event spaces available for rent, and two independent food and beverage establishments: Cleats and The Whale. Built for a work and play lifestyle, The Refinery is where office hours turn into happy hours!

  • WHERE ARE THE CONCERTS HELD?
    Concerts at The Refinery are held in the outdoor amphitheater on the east side of The Refinery building. This area is partially paved and there is also a lawn area to spread out on. The entry and exit gate is located at the southeastern end of the property. Check out our venue map for more detail! There are no dedicated seats in either General Admission or VIP. All seating options are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS, + INCLEMENT WEATHER
    All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. The Refinery is an outdoor venue and shows will be held in all elements of Charleston weather. All events are rain or shine. In the case of extreme inclement weather, The Refinery will send out updates to all ticket buyers via email and post on social media (Instagram and Facebook) Please be prepared for a wide range of weather conditions. This may include full exposure to the sun, heat, and rain. We recommend that patrons bring rain gear (no umbrellas), sunscreen, and bug spray. Event staff will monitor weather conditions and prioritize guest and staff safety. Check social media pages (Instagram and Facebook) for most up to date information regarding inclement weather. The Refinery reserves the right to cancel any event at any time for any reason.
  • AMPHITHEATER HOURS
    On event days, The Refinery amphitheater will be closed to the public for sound checks and show operations. Occasionally, the amphitheater may be closed on a non-concert day for a private event being held on the campus. Gates generally open one hour before the start of a concert/scheduled event. Please check your ticket or the event details on our calendar to confirm the gate times for the event you plan to attend.
  • HEALTH + SAFETY
    Patron, artist, and staff safety are of the utmost importance at The Refinery. We do everything we can to make events held here a safe experience for everyone involved. ​ If medical attention is needed during an event at The Refinery, please contact uniformed event staff. We always have police and EMS on-site during concerts.
  • LOST & FOUND
    Lost and found items can be retrieved at the event entrance during event hours. After event hours, please email info@therefinerychs.com.
  • LOCATION + PARKING/RIDESHARE
    The Refinery's address is: 1640 Meeting Street Rd Charleston, SC 29405 ​ Parking is available along both sides of Meeting Street Rd. and adjacent streets. Please abide by all private and City of Charleston signage and be respectful of neighboring businesses when finding a place to park. The Refinery's gravel parking lot located on the north side of the venue is available to all ticket holders on a first come-first served basis. Rideshare: using rideshare services is HIGHLY encouraged! Rideshare drop off and pick up is located at the southern entrance of The Refinery. Please consult our venue map and direct all rideshare drivers to this area for the most efficient drop off and pick up experience. Please note that the nearest crosswalk on Meeting Street Rd. is located at the intersection with Morrison Dr. Please use extreme caution when crossing the street outside of a crosswalk!
  • TICKETING
    All tickets should be purchased directly through Ticketweb. The Refinery does not currently have a box office on-site. Children under the age of 2 are free. Ages 2 and older require a ticket. For all ages shows, attendees under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. GENERAL ADMISSION The General Admission section is located on ground level. This area is partially paved with a lawn area to spread out on and direct access to bars, restrooms, and the stage. Standing room only Blankets, towels & Crazy Creek style ground seats (that do not have any metal, wood, or plastic structure) to utilize the lawn space are permitted. Chairs are not allowed. THE PLATFORM - VIP The VIP section (we call it The Platform) is located on a second story rooftop overlooking the venue. VIP includes access to the full venue, including General Admission Exclusive VIP bar access with premium drink options, bird's eye view of the venue, first come first served seating options (tables/chairs, bar stools, picnic tables) 21+ only. *VIP area is accessible via exterior staircase only* NO RE-ENTRY If you exit the event area you will not be allowed to return. TICKETING ISSUES + QUESTIONS For all tickets purchased through TicketWeb, please contact TicketWeb support directly. All ticket exchanges, refunds, and inquiries should be handled directly with the respective box offices through which you purchased if not through TicketWeb. All tickets are sold online (even at the door). We highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
  • ALLOWED + PROHIBITED ITEMS
    ALLOWED: ​ Government-issued photo ID Clear bags - see full bag policy Medical & diaper bags Blankets + towels Crazy Creek style ground seats (that do not have any type of metal, wood, or plastic structures) Rain jacket/poncho Personal hand sanitizer Baby strollers Sunscreen (non-aerosol container) Bug spray (non-aerosol container) Basic point-and-shoot cameras Empty plastic or cardboard poster holders Empty reusable water bottles. Yeti style cups/tumblers are not allowed. There are free water fountains inside the venue. ​ NOT ALLOWED: Bags that are NOT CLEAR - see full bag policy Chairs and inflatable seating or hammocks Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind Umbrellas Weapons of any kind (firearms, knives, pepper spray/mace, etc. are not allowed) Illegal and illicit substances Outside food or drinks Coolers of any kind Pets (except verifiable service animals) Radios, video games, laser pointers Fireworks, bullhorns, noise makers & musical instruments Remote-controlled flying devices, drones, or UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) Confetti, glitter, and other items that can be thrown Glass containers of any kind Selfie sticks Banners, signs, flags, or promotional posters of any kind. Management reserves the right to remove any banner or sign without exception. Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts, or any personal motorized vehicles These are not exhaustive lists and The Refinery event staff reserves the final decision on items brought into the venue.
  • BAG POLICY
    ALL bags will be searched before entry. Upon arrival, please have your bags available for review. ALL BAGS MUST BE CLEAR except for small personal clutches approx. the size of a hand (no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5”). This is for the safety of all guests and staff. The only to exceptions to this rule are medical and diaper bags which will be allowed after being searched. ​
  • PET POLICY
    We love animals, but no pets (with the exception of service animals as defined by the ADA) will be allowed into the venue during ticketed events. Service animals are permitted and admitted; however, each service animal must be leashed, remain with its owner,.and have verifiable documentation. Dogs are welcome at The Refinery during non-event hours as long as the dog is friendly and on a leash. Patrons are responsible for all behavior and waste cleanup.
  • GENERAL
    Alcoholic Beverage Policies No alcohol may be brought into the venue or any of the parking lots on The Refinery campus Tailgating is not permitted. Alcohol may not be consumed in any of The Refinery's parking lots. A government issued photo ID is required for those age 21+ planning to purchase and/or drink alcohol inside the venue. Alcohol purchases are limited 2 beverages per ID at a time. Management and staff have the right to refuse service at any time. Please drink responsibly! Utilize designated drivers, rideshare apps, and other alternate forms of transportation if you plan to consume alcohol. If you have consumed alcohol and need help getting a ride home, please let our staff know and we'll be happy to help. Beverages Cocktails, beer, and NA beverages are available at all general admission and VIP bars Attendees may also patronize Cleats and The Whale during concerts Food Step inside to Cleats for a full restaurant menu. Visit their website for more details. The Refinery food truck serves a rotating selection of quick bites ranging from cheesesteaks to loaded hot dogs. Additional food vendors may be brought in depending on expected attendance.
  • THE WHALE + CLEATS
    The Whale and Cleats are independent businesses located on the ground level of The Refinery building, adjacent to the outdoor amphitheater. They are open and accessible to concert attendees in addition to their normal business hours. The Whale is a craft beer collective and tasting room with an expansive selection of beers, wines, seltzers, and ciders. Additional locations in Greenville, SC and Asheville, NC. The Whale is closed to the public during concerts, only serving concert attendees. They typically close to the public 1 hour prior to doors. Cleats is a full service, restaurant, bar, and caterer serving up unique cocktails and food inspired by the same folks that brought us Daps Cafe. Rest assured they'll have your game on one of their TVs! Cleats remains open to the public inside during concerts. In order to venture onto their outdoor patio or into the outdoor amphitheater, you must have a ticket to the concert. Stick around after the show! Cleats and The Whale will remain open according to their normal business hours after the concert.
