Part venue, part place of work, part experiment — we bring together music,
entrepreneurs, artists, food + drink, and community through experiences
designed to feel authentic, welcoming, and alive.
built on a century of industry
In 1926, The Standard Oil Company established its headquarters on this property — making Charleston the oil capital of the carolinas. The Charleston Refinery supplied all of the gasoline being sold by The Standard Oil Company in the region, and its Asphalt was used to pave the streets of downtown Charleston.
This refinery played an extensive role in both the social and economic development of Charleston. By increasing the ship movements and tonnage flowing through the port, the refinery not only created jobs, it built a community.
the next chapter
that original headquarters building still stands today, reimagined as creative office space for innovators and makers of modern charleston. in 2020 we completed the refinery as you know it today: a mixed-use complex and amphitheater designed to carry this site's legacy forward. Since 2023, over 150,000 people have gathered here for music, community, and something you can't quite put into words. And there's no end in sight!
